VYC Fall Regatta

NOTICE of RACE

Ventura Yacht Club invites you to join us for the 2009 Fall Regatta, November 14 & 15, 2009.  This is race #2 of the 2009/2010 So Cal Optimist Series.

ELIGIBILITY

AND ENTRY:           Each participant shall be under 16 years of age during the entire series and must be a member or participant in a California Youth Sailing Program.  Each entrant must submit a completed VYC entry form, signed by a parent or guardian, to the race committee (RC) before 1030 hours on Saturday, November 14.

PLACE:                      Ventura Yacht Club 1755 Spinnaker Dr. Ventura CA , 93001

CLASSES:                  Two Optimist fleets, Green & Championship.  “Champs” Fleet will include Red, White, & Blue classes.

COURSE:                  The Green course will be inside Ventura Harbor. The Champs course will be outside the Ventura Harbor. The courses will be chosen from a course chart to be provided at the skipper’s meeting

RULES:                      Each Regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of US Sailing, the USODA Class Rules, the Notice of Series and Sailing Instructions issued by each Host venue. Decisions of the jury or protest committee are final.

SCORING:                See SO Cal Optimist Series NOR.

SKIPPER’S

MEETINGS:             A Skipper’s Meeting will be held at the Ventura Yacht Club at 1030 hours for Champs and at 1045 hours for Green on each race day.

TIME:                        The warning signal for each day’s race is scheduled for 1155 hours.

LUNCH                      All competitors will need to provide their own lunch.

ENTRY FEE:              There is a $25 entry fee - Includes a competitor dinner Saturday & Sunday post race snack.

TROPHIES:               Awards will be presented Sunday as soon as possible after the racing at the Ventura Yacht Club. Everyone is a winner in green fleet.  Top three sailors in each “Champs” class will receive trophies as well as top three overall.  Series awards will be presented after the last series race on March 28 at Morro Bay Yacht Club.

By participation in this event/series, each competitor agrees to release the race organizers (organizing authority, host yacht club race committee, protest committee, sponsors and any others acting in an official capacity for this event) from any liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
